(Special) YA Wednesday: Variant & Help-An-Author-Out "Book Bomb"

(Amazon link)
You need a great book and this author needs a great paycheck.

Purchase a copy of Robison Wells' YA thriller, Variant, tomorrow Nov. 10th on Amazon.

Author Robison Wells (brother to author Dan Wells) is in some serious straights right now. He has been struggling with health problems and was recently let go from his much needed day job because of it.
The point of this "book bomb" is to buy the heck out of Variant in a single day so that it's Amazon ranking will go up which will then cause it to receive more attention and then increase in sales even more. Then Rob and his family will receive a little more income for medical expenses etc.
READ author Larry Correia's blog post for more detailed information on Rob's condition and this "book bomb" (he's the one who came up with this idea to help Rob). ((And here's a link that explains book advances and royalties.))

(From Goodreads)
Benson Fisher thought that a scholarship to Maxfield Academy would be the ticket out of his dead-end life.

He was wrong.

Now he’s trapped in a school that’s surrounded by a razor-wire fence. A school where video cameras monitor his every move. Where there are no adults. Where the kids have split into groups in order to survive.

Where breaking the rules equals death.

But when Benson stumbles upon the school’s real secret, he realizes that playing by the rules could spell a fate worse than death, and that escape—his only real hope for survival—may be impossible.

((see below for book trailers))
Robison Wells will be one of the four YA dystopian authors at the Provo City Library's TEEN BOOK FEST this Saturday, Nov. 12th. Come to the Young Special Events Room at 1PM (in the library's Academy Wing) for Rob's lecture! He will be doing a book signing afterwards in the art gallery (if you don't have the book yet and you want an autograph, you could take a book plate to get signed [a blank sticker large enough for a signature] or perhaps he will have bookmarks he could sign? [I'm not sure if there will be bookmarks, but we can hope, 'cause bookmarks are cool]. Rob will also be on the panel discussion (with the other three authors) at 4PM. ALSO, throughout the event (which will go until 5PM) there will be Variant themed activities including Ghillie Suite Costuming and a Variant obstacle course with CLAS Ropes Course! ***YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A TEEN TO ATTEND***

**EDIT: Finished reading Variant and this is what I thought: Absolutely incredible thriller! Rob has created a unique, closed world that will keep you guessing. The story winds up for quite a sucker punch. (And I totally mean SUCKER PUNCH. I don't know how else to describe it.)**
