Pecan Pie from The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater

I recently (finally!) read Maggie Stiefvater's The Dream Thieves, book 2 in The Raven Cycle. It did not disappoint. Why would it? This is Maggie Stiefvater we're talking about. The writing is clever and atmospheric and well paced and the characters and exploits are easy to get into. And there's a pecan pie in chapter 50. So I made a pecan pie. Here's the recipe (or click on the image below). For "Raven Boys Pizza" from book 1, click here and my review of The Raven Boys, click here.

There's also a giveaway going on to win one of Maggie's special Raven Boys bookplates featuring her artwork, autographed by her, as well as an autographed bookmark for her novels Shiver and Linger (it's two-sided) along with a 3 oz. pouch of my special Raven Boys inspired tea blend from Adagio Teas with disposable tea bags! Giveaway is open to US residents only. Ends 5/19/14 11:59 PM PST. Good luck!

  1. Although I didn't enjoy The Dream Thieves as much as The Raven Boys, it was a close second. I did love it despite having flaws, one being the main character. Once again, I love Stiefvater's writing, which crafted a fantastical setting and tone, some extremely dimensional characters, and a wonderful story.
