Look out for this awesome, upcoming novel from YA author Berin L. Stephens: Time Gangsters
(release date: Feb. 8, 2012)!
(From Cedar Fort's Website)
When Billy discovers a hidden cache of ancient coins, it isn’t long before a gang of thugs from the 1920s swipes them right from under him. Plotting to use the magical properties of the coins to seize control of the past, these power-hungry gangsters will do anything to reach their goal. Their future threatened, Billy and Danny must race through time to steal back the coins—before history is changed forever!

I've had the opportunity to meet Berin at a few of the local book signings and he's a really cool guy. He's got a great sense of humor and it shows in his clever writing. In honor of Time Gangsters Berin even has a special costume! Look (left)!
Berin was born in Alaska, served a full-time LDS mission in California, and studied music and teaching at BYU. And he plays the saxophone! (Keep reading for a special treat.) Berin loves jazz and currently teaches music (saxophone specifically) at UVU (he also taught in Alaska).
Berin is also the author of the super fun, space fantasy The Dragon War Relic (also from Cedar Fort Publishing) and is working on the sequel. He even made a real song to go along with a song from the book called "The Havoc Stomp!" (The lyrics are at the end of the book.)

And guess what?
The folks at Cedar Fort have offered
to give away an eBook copy of Time Gangsters here on the blog!
And because this is an eBook giveaway it's international!
All you have to do is comment on this post with your email like this: ladyofnarnia(at)yahoo(dot)com.
I'll choose a winner on Sunday, Jan. 15th @ 11:59 PM MST using Random.org.
Thanks and good luck!

  1. I've been hesitant to post since I don't need to win the ebook version of Dragon War Relic. I have it in print, several of them, actually. So I guess I need to advertise your giveaway so that someone can win it. And thanks for your help with this review.
